Episode 201: Mike McIntire

Cowboys are an important part of American history and so are all the settlers who pushed westward in the 1800s using guns to hunt, to protect themselves and to fight Native Americans. There are now about 400 million guns in the U.S. That adds up to more firearms than people. Mike McIntire is a Pulitzer-Prize winning investigative reporter at the NY Times. He’s been covering gun violence, gun culture and gun politics for almost 40 yrs. McIntire has written a new book called Ricochet: Guns, Greed and the American Way of Violence. We talk about gun industry profits and what McIntire says is a growing extremism when it comes to the access to firearms.
